What Powers the 2022 Ram TRX?
The Ram TRX gets its fearsome power from the supercharged 6.2L V8 Hellcat engine, supplying an exhilarating 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. This gives the TRX a 0-60 time of just 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 118 MPH. Power is driven to all four wheels by a high-torque enabled 8-speed automatic transmission. Ram refuses to quit while their ahead, so they added other performance-enhancing features to make the TRX even more powerful. The supercharger under the hood of the TRX can provide up to 11 pounds of boost and reach a maximum speed of 14,600 revolutions per minute. In addition, the TRX uses multiple air intakes leading to a massive airbox for maximum engine cooling. The airbox can consume up to 33 liters of air each minute and filters out four times more debris and dirt than the Ford Raptor, its most formidable competitor. The TRX also uses launch control, allowing drivers to select a specific RPM for the truck to launch for the fastest possible launch time. Lastly, the TRX offers eight selectable drive modes that allow the driver to customize their capability. The TRX drive modes are Sport, Snow, Auto, Custom, Sand/Mud, Rock, and Baja.

The Ram TRX was designed specifically to capture its aggressive nature and exhilarating performance. Beginning at the front, you'll find a wide grille with a R-A-M emblem with open lettering, offering greater engine airflow. The grille is flanked by LED headlights inside slim housings for a fierce glare. The TRX is an extra eight inches wider than the regular Ram 1500, making way for a wider track, more airflow locations, and a bold appearance. The functional hood scoop has three LED marker lights giving it a distinct glow. The TRX sits almost a foot off the ground on 18-inch alloy wheels with 35-inch all-terrain tires. You can't only see the aggression of the TRX; you can hear it through the performance-tuned exhaust with resonance-free pipes, emitting a growl unlike any other. Inside, you'll find a flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 12-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen with navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and much more.
What makes the Ram TRX so capable?
Of course, the TRX provides a high-speed thrill ride. However, as we mentioned before, it's designed to take you far beyond where other trucks would turn back. The TRX's first capability feature is the Bilstein BlackHawk e2 shock absorbers. These custom-built shocks provide the TRX with 11.8 inches of ground clearance, giving it the ability to easily pass over rocks, logs, and any other trail obstacles. The shocks also provide the TRX with 13 inches of front suspension travel and 14 inches of rear suspension travel, keeping all four wheels on the ground no matter how rugged the terrain gets. A pressurized nitrogen gas chamber powers each shock in an independent remote reservoir. The shocks also employ a secondary piston which will engage as they approach full compression to prevent the dreaded bottom-out. Lastly, these shocks use Active Terrain Dynamics, which lets them adapt to changes in the terrain by watching the vehicle's sensors and adapting to changes in steering angle, speed, and throttle position.
