2018 Jeep Compass at Central Ave Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM

There is something to be said about a company, and a vehicle that can continually broaden its influence on the world and the car industry. The 2018 Jeep Compass is that vehicle. Jeep redesigned the Compass in 2017, and the 2018 model, while very similar to the 2017, has continued the history of the Jeep company with a few new upgrades. The first of these upgrades is the addition of a new trim level known as the Limited. This trim level is set apart by its ability to allow a 4x2 driveline configuration. The 2018 model overall has a wider shape and better proportions for a higher-end look on both the exterior and interior. The high-end theme continues with the materials being used to craft the Compass with detail, and endless care. Along with the already mentioned Limited, the 2018 Jeep Compass offers three other trim levels; the Sport, the Latitude, and the Trailhawk. Every trim level continually gives the best off-road experience, fuel-efficient powertrains, expert handling, and the iconic Jeep look. The 2018 Compass has not forgotten about safety or technology either, including over 70 safety and security features, as well as Bluetooth technology, and a 5-inch UConnect touchscreen system.

What kinds of transmissions are available with the 2018 Compass?

With 180 horsepower, and 175 pound-feet of torque, the MultiAir Tigershark 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine is the standard engine for all 2018 Compass trims. With one engine, comes many different choices when it comes to transmission. The 4x4 models can have the six-speed manual transmission, or the 4x4 specific nine-speed automatic transmission and the 4x2 models have the option between the six-speed manual transmission, or the six-speed automatic transmission. The fuel efficiency for these vehicles varies depending on the transmission, from 22 mpg for city and 31 mpg for highway in a 4WD manual and FWD automatic, to 23 mpg for city and 32 mpg for highway in a FWD manual transmission, and 22 mpg for city and 30 mpg for highway in a 4WD automatic. After you have chosen your transmission, you cannot forget about the impressive five-mode Jeep Selec-Terrain system. This system gives you four different modes; Auto, Snow, Sand, and Mud, to help you drive better in multiple different driving conditions. An additional mode is included with the Trailhawk, called Rock mode. That added mode in the Selec-Terrain system gives the Trailhawk plenty of reason to be your go-to off-roading vehicle. Especially considering what else the Tailhawk offers: a higher ride, skid plates, and the ever important tow hooks in both the back and front of the vehicle. The Trailhawk has a towing capacity of up to 2,000 pounds, and has the capability of extreme angle approaches of 30-degrees, a 24-degree breakover angle, and a 34-degree departure angle. Even the 17-inch tires help give the Trailhawk that off-road edge, giving it the ability to cruise through up to 19-inches of water, as well as control the movement downhill.

What are the differences between each trim level in the 2018 Compass?

As previously mentioned, there are four different trim levels for the 2018 Compass. The first of these trims is the Sport, containing six-speakers, 16-inch wheels, Bluetooth, the all-important USB port, air-conditioning, and a 5-inch touchscreen with the Uconnect system. The second trim level is the Latitude. This trim has all of the standard features of the Sport and adds an upgraded interior, the ability to pick and choose other packages for additional upgrades, wheels larger than the 16-inch of the Compass Sport, and keyless entry and ignition. The third trim is the Limited. This trim includes upgraded leather upholstery, new exterior trim options, climate control, an even larger 8.5-inch touchscreen for Uconnect containing the ability to integrate smartphone autoplay capabilities with both Apple and Android devices, 18-inch wheels, heated seats, and a driver powered seat. The last trim is the Trailhawk. The Trailhawk is the perfect trim for those looking for an adventure, especially if that adventure includes off-roading. Some of the features that make the Trailhawk perfect for off-roading include 17-inch wheels, a suspension that is raised for better mobility on off-road terrain, shields to protect the engine and the gas tank, a package offered only in AWD, with a Selec-Terrain system, and a one-year subscription to SiriusXM radio. Standard with every 2018 Compass is five seats, plenty of leg-room for front seat passengers and 38.3-inches of legroom for passengers in the back seat. For cargo space there is over 27 cubic feet of space with the back seats locked in their normal position. When those seats are folded over they reveal 60 cubic feet of cargo room. There are many interior and exterior colors to further cement your 2018 Compass as your own. Interior colors include Black and Ski Grey, Black and Sandstorm, Black, and Trailhawk Black. Exterior colors for all trims include Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat, Olive Green Pearl Coat, Redline Red Pearl Coat, Laser Blue Pearl Coat, Jazz Blue Pearl Coat, Billet Silver Metallic Clear Coat, and Bright White Tri-Coat. Pearl White Tri-Coat is only available for Limited models, Spitfire Orange Clear Coat is a color only available for Trailhawk and Sport models, and Rhino Clear Coat is available for both Trailhawk and Limited models.

How many safety features are available with the 2018 Compass?

With over 70 safety and security features available with the 2018 Compass, Jeep is creating a vehicle, that while incredibly fun to drive, will also put your mind at ease. Two of the standard safety features in every trim are a blind-spot monitoring system and a rearview camera. Other safety features, that are optional, includes lane-keep assistance, as well as forward collision warning that comes with an automatic emergency braking system.
