The 2016 Compass is a spectacular take on an SUV that retains value quite well and is held at a very attractive price point that helps make the Compass a very popular Jeep model. This vehicle takes into account the many bits of customer feedback in order to better itself for a more enjoyable and highly functional ride. It has a large interior and great handling along with high performance power train options that people have come to count on. The Subaru Crosstrek straddles a line between a compact crossover and efficient compact car. Safety is paramount, which is why the Crosstrek can be equipped with Subaru's EyeSight driver-assist technology. While we applaud the effort, the Crosstrek Hybrid doesn't offer any real advantage in power or fuel economy.

2016 Jeep Compass Power & Handling

The 2016 Jeep Compass allows for a few different selections including a four-cylinder World Gas engine which churns out an amazing 158 horsepower and 141 lb.-ft. of torque. It is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. Another great selection is a 2.4-liter cylinder with four cylinders which produces 172 horsepower and is attached to a 6-speed transmission that is a Powertech automatic.

The Subaru Crosstrek has a couple of different options at power train. The first is a 2.0-liter 4 cylinder with 148 horsepower and 145 lb.-ft. of torque. The fuel efficiency is great on this vehicle and comes in the mid-twenties to lower thirties depending on the transmission chosen. There's also a 2.0-liter flat-4/permanent-magnet AC synchronous electric drive motor that gets 160 horsepower and 163 lb.-ft. of torque along with fuel economy coming in at 30 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.

The Compass offers three driving options for 2016. There is standard rear-wheel drive, Freedom Drive 1 which is all-wheel drive which is convenient in all sorts of weather and Freedom Drive 2 that comes Trail Rated. Some drivers really like this setup as it comes with tow hooks, skid plates, factory lift, lightweight wheels and variable trans axle with low range ability. Coming as an option on all automatic four-wheel drive models is an amazing High Altitude package. Included in this package are chrome wheels, power sunroof, leather seats, auto headlights and more.  All Compass models have a capacity to tow up to 2,000 pounds which is great to have in case you need it.
