The 2015 Ram 1500 is a top contender in the full-size pickup segment, thanks to a winning combination of strong powertrains, a smooth ride and a well-trimmed cabin. It gets minor equipment adjustments, which include a new R/T variant that is based on the Sport trim level. The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 gets a new eight-speed automatic transmission for the optional 6.2-liter V8 engine. Also, what was known last year as the 2WT (Work Truck) is now the LS.

2015 RAM 1500 Features & Design

The Ram has put a big emphasis on style since the 1994 model debuted with the big-rig look. The look has continued evolving, keeping the unique shape and updating it for better aerodynamics, while adding nice all around the truck. Those with simpler tastes have plenty of options in the Ram 1500 range, from the simple and unadorned Tradesman to the extreme luxury of the Laramie Longhorn.

2015 Chevrolet Silverado Features & Design

Since their redesign, the Silverado and its sister GMC Sierra are even closer on the outside: The hoods used to have different grooves but now are almost identical, and the grilles are closing in on a similar size. The new GMC Canyon looks like a downsized Sierra, but the new Chevy Colorado looks more related to older Silverados.

Conclusions

Due to its greater head and leg room, passengers in the extended cab will be able to stretch out a lot more in the RAM 1500 than in the Chevrolet Silverado. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will be a favorite with tall drivers and their passengers, since it has much greater head- and legroom than the RAM 1500. With the RAM 1500 you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the Chevrolet Silverado, due to its tank size and fuel economy.
